Currently under construction and slated to be completed by May 2016, One Canal will be a luxury apartment building in the Bulfinch Triangle neighborhood of downtown Boston (per the BRA). Located at the tip of the Rose Kennedy Greenway and above the North Station Green Line, One Canal will be close to Government Center, steps from TD Garden, and only a short distance from Massachusetts General Hospital and the business district. Whereas this area was once overshadowed by the elevated Central Artery and the Green Line, One Canal will help to continue the transformation of the Bulfinch Triangle into a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood.
The developer for the project is Trinity Financial and the architect is ICON Architecture. The 12-story building will contain 320 apartments, which will be a mix of studios, 1-, 2-, 3-bedroom, and penthouse apartments. The development will also have 435,000 square feet of residential and retail space, 21,000 square feet of space for retail and internal loading, and 159 indoor parking spaces as well as bicycle storage for building residents.
Recreation areas will include a rooftop swimming pool, a fitness center, yoga studio, and a spin studio. In addition, One Canal’s location close to the Charles River and the Charles River Bike Path will make it ideal for those who like to run, jog, walk, bike, or skate.
The building will have a variety of social areas, including a rooftop social deck, an outdoor fireplace station, a grilling station, club room, and a courtyard. Wi-Fi will be available throughout common areas. One Canal will be a pet-friendly building.
The building will be control-accessed and have a 24/7 concierge.
