Per the BRA, VIA will be one of the two residential towers in One Seaport Square, with The Benjamin being the other one. One Seaport Square will be a 1.5 million- square-foot project, the largest mixed-used development in Boston in the last thirty years. In total, the two buildings will contain 832 modern apartments, all for lease only.
Both VIA and The Benjamin will offer sweeping views of the Boston skyline and the Boston Harbor. One Seaport Square will qualify for LEED Silver certification.
VIA will include 478 apartments, ranging from studios and innovation units to three-bedroom apartments. The building will feature an innovation-focused housing component, “The Fusion Wing,” comprised of 96 innovation units. These units will be a mix of cost-effective studios and one-bedroom apartments.
One Seaport Square will include 775 below-grade parking spaces, which will be located across three levels. There will be 430 parking spaces for residents and 345 public parking spaces.
Retail space will be located on the first three floors
VIA will have a Kings Bowl, as well as a restaurant and full bar Lobby Lounge. It will also have an artisan Italian restaurant and marketplace Tuscan Italian Kitchen & Market. A Showplace ICON Theatre and high-energy steakhouse STK® are some of the other retail tenants planned for the building.
Construction Timeline and Occupancy
Construction began on One Seaport Square in November of 2014. The two residential towers are slated to open in 2017. The Benjamin will open in Spring 2017. VIA will open in Summer 2017.
