Bay Village is one of the smaller sized neighborhoods in all of Boston, wedged in between the South End, Midtown and Back Bay neighborhoods. While the neighborhood is small in size, the location of Bay Village is phenomenal. Within a few minutes walk are great restaurants on Tremont Street, the Public Garden and Commons and all that the heart of Boston has to offer.
The majority of real estate in Bay Village is brownstones built in the late 1800’s. As of late, there has been some in-fill and new construction on the outskirts of Bay Village, which has dramatically increased the appeal of living in the neighborhood. Bay Village is also a very walkable neighborhood as there are not many “cut through” streets. It is often an overlooked neighborhood given its rivals, the South End and Back Bay, tend to get a majority of the attention. Make sure not to look over this sleepy yet charming neighborhood.
